Electrofusion welding is a connection method that generates heat through electric heating elements to melt the internal materials of electrofusion pipe fittings and fuse them with the outer wall of the pipe. Its basic principle is to use the Joule heat effect generated when current passes through high-resistance materials to convert electrical energy into thermal energy, thereby heating and melting the plastic material in the electrofusion pipe fittings.
The electrofusion welding machine is the core of the entire electrofusion welding system. It integrates multiple functional modules such as power supply, temperature control, data recording and feedback. Its working principle can be roughly divided into the following steps.
Power supply: The electrofusion welding machine accesses electrical energy through an external power supply and converts it into the voltage and current required inside the welding machine. This step ensures the stable supply of electrical energy during the welding process.
Temperature control: The welding machine is equipped with an advanced temperature control system, which includes components such as temperature sensors, controllers and actuators. The temperature sensor monitors the temperature inside the electric fusion pipe fittings in real time and feeds the data back to the controller. The controller adjusts the power output or controls the power of the heating element according to the preset welding parameters and real-time temperature data to achieve precise control of the welding temperature.
Heating process: Under the precise control of the temperature control system, the current passes through the heating element built into the electric fusion pipe fittings, generating a large amount of heat energy, which quickly heats and melts the plastic material inside the electric fusion pipe fittings, making it molten.
Fusion and cooling: As the heating process continues, the molten plastic inside the electric fusion pipe fittings gradually contacts and fuses with the outer wall of the pipe. The welder needs to maintain a stable connection between the pipe and the pipe fitting to ensure that the molten plastic can fully diffuse and form a good bonding interface. After the molten plastic is completely cooled and solidified, a high-strength and high-sealing connection is formed between the pipe and the pipe fitting.
In addition to the electric fusion welding machine itself, a series of supporting tools also play an important role in the electric fusion welding process.
Strippers and scrapers: used to remove impurities such as oxide layers and oil stains on the surface of pipes and fittings to ensure the cleanliness of the welding interface.
Cleaning cloth: further wipe the welding interface to remove residual tiny particles and moisture.
Clamps and support frames: used to fix and support pipes and fittings to ensure that they can maintain a stable docking state during the welding process.
Measuring tools: such as vernier calipers, tape measures, etc., used to accurately measure the dimensions of pipes and fittings to ensure the accuracy of welding parameters.
